  2. Locate the option Import bookmarks. Click it.

  3. Browse to the HTML-file with the bookmarks you want to import.

Bookmark menu

When you right-click a bookmark, you open the Bookmark menu. Now you see several options.

  • Open the bookmark in a new window. With this option, the website will open in a new tab. This setting is especially useful when you have set the Open link in new window setting of your profile to off.

  • Edit bookmark. This will open the bookmarks sidebar, so you can set the title, icon, or description.

  • Change icon. To change the icon immediately, without jumping to the Bookmarks sidebar.

  • Copy link to clipboard.

  • Duplicate bookmark. When you click this, you copy the bookmark to another page, widget and group (if you have groups activated).

  • Move bookmark. When you click this, you move the bookmark to another page, widget and group (if you have groups activated).

  • Delete. Click this option, and the bookmark will disappear from your page. There is no undo, and no confirmation.

Widget menu

Right-click the widget or click the More icon (three dots) to open the Widget menu. This is where you control the appearance and behavior of your widget.

These are your options:

  • Open all links in tabs. This is especially useful when you've collected links to use for a specific task.

  • Add bookmark / Edit bookmark / Sort bookmarks. You can sort all bookmarks in a widget at once, even if they are organized in Bookmarks Groups. Changes are applied instantly and there is no undo. Your options are:

    • sort by Title (A-Z or Z-A),

    • sort by Age (Newest or Oldest),

    • sort by Domain (so all links from the same main domain are grouped together),

    • or sort by URL (so links from the same domain are not grouped together).

  • Add Group.

  • Copy, merge & move the entire widget.

  • Display settings. You can change the form and order of the bookmarks in one bookmarks widget, or apply this to all bookmarks widgets on the page.

  • Share the widget.

  • Background to change background and transparency. If you make the widget 100% transparent, you'll only see its content. You can also apply this setting to all other widgets on your page.

  • Delete widget. You'll get a pop-up to ask if you are sure. If your continue, the widget will delete. There is no way to undo this.

Other features

If you want to open your bookmarks in a new tab, you can configure this in your User Preferences.

You open them by clicking the User icon in your top right corner.

Then click Preferences and toggle the Open in new window option.

For this feature to work, you have to allow pop-ups from start.me. Read all about accepting pop-ups in this support article.

Broken link checker

The Broken Link Checker will show a strike through your broken links. When you click the broken link, a dialogue window will appear.

Open all links at once

Many of our users use the Bookmarks widget to gather and order a few links they access every day. For example, they use them to check multiple sources to update a tracker, or to monitor their competition or social accounts. If you had to open all links one by one, this would become time-consuming. That's why we added an 'Open all links at once' option to our Bookmark widget.

You can locate it in the Widget Menu. Don't worry about clicking it by mistake: we'll always ask you if you're sure you want us to open multiple tabs at once. Also, we've disabled this feature on touch devices.
