Importing your bookmarks from various sources into Start.me is straightforward. To import bookmarks or view the progress of your imports, go to https://start.me/users/user_data/import

Import Bookmarks by Uploading a File (.html, .txt, .csv, .xls)

Instructions

  1. Log in to your Start.me account.

  2. Click the Import bookmarks button.

  3. Choose 'Upload a file' and select the file format you have your bookmarks saved in (.html, .txt, .csv, .xls, .ods).

  4. Click on 'Browse' to locate and select the file from your computer.

  5. Once the file is selected, click on 'Import' to start the process. Your bookmarks will be imported and organized automatically.

Preparing your csv/xls/ods import file
You can now import your bookmarks collection from Excel, Google Spreadsheets or any other spreadsheet tool. You can use the following fields in your import file:

  • title (optional)

  • URL (required)

  • description (optional)

  • widget (optional)

  • group (optional)

Ensure that these column names precisely match the field names for a smooth import process.

Import Browser Bookmarks by Using Our Extension

  1. Install the Start.me extension for your browser.

  2. Once installed, click on the extension icon in your browser toolbar.

  3. Click the cog icon in the top right corner.

  4. Select the option to Import Bookmarks. The extension will automatically detect and import bookmarks from your current browser.

  5. Follow the prompts to complete the import process. You can customize the folders and locations for your imported bookmarks directly through the extension.

Import Bookmarks from Another URL/Webpage

  1. Log in to your Start.me account.

  2. Click the Import bookmarks button

  3. Choose 'Import from URL' and enter the URL of the webpage you want to import.

  4. Click on 'Import' to initiate the process. Start.me will extract bookmarks from the provided URL and add them to your page.
