Why doesn't Firefox load Start.me on startup?
Why doesn't Firefox load Start.me on startup?
Updated over a week ago

Some Firefox users have reported that Start.me isn't loading properly on their homepage when they launch Firefox after a computer reboot. Even though they have configured https://start.me correctly as the homepage URL, they get a blank page when Firefox launches, or Start.me is loading but without the user being logged in.

This is a known issue in Firefox and is affecting other websites that are set as homepages as well. You can read more about this issue on the Mozilla support forum:

Please follow the next steps to solve this issue:

Step 1: Disable Performance settings

  1. Click the Menu icon, and select Settings.

  2. In the General pane, scroll down until you see the Performance section.

  3. Turn off both options and close the tab.

Try reloading your browser to see if https://start.me is now loaded correctly as your homepage.

Step 2: Make sure "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" is unchecked

  1. Click the Menu icon, and select Settings.

  2. Go to the Privacy & Security tab under Options, or type "about:preferences#privacy" in the address bar.

  3. Under Cookies and Site Data make sure that Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed is unchecked.

  2. Go to the Privacy & Security tab under Options, or type "about:preferences#privacy" in the address bar.

  3. Under Cookies and Site Data click Clear cookies,

  4. Check Cookies and Site Data and Cached Web Content (note: this means you'll have to login again to other services). Click Clear to confirm.

Step 4: Add Start.me as exception

  2. Go to the Privacy & Security tab under Options, or type "about:preferences#privacy" in the address bar.

  3. Under Cookies and Site Data click Manage Exceptions.

  4. Type http://start.me and https://start.me in the Address of website field and click Allow. Both should show up as Allowed.
