Some Firefox users find that Start.me doesn't load properly on startup — they get a blank page, or Start.me loads without being signed in. This is usually caused by Firefox's performance settings, cookie handling, or session restore behavior.
Follow these steps in order until the issue is resolved.
Step 1: Disable hardware acceleration
Firefox's hardware acceleration can interfere with page loading on startup.
Click the hamburger menu (☰) and select Settings.
Scroll down to the Performance section.
Uncheck Use recommended performance settings.
Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.
Restart Firefox and check if Start.me loads correctly.
Step 2: Keep cookies when Firefox closes
If Firefox deletes cookies on close, you'll be logged out of Start.me every time.
Go to Settings > Privacy & Security.
Under Cookies and Site Data, make sure "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" is unchecked.
Step 3: Clear cookies and add Start.me as an exception
In Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data, click Clear Data.
Check Cookies and Site Data and Cached Web Content, then click Clear.
Next, click Manage Exceptions.
Add both
https://start.meandhttp://start.meand click Allow for each.Click Save Changes.
Step 4: Clear Start.me history
Corrupted history entries can sometimes cause loading issues.
Go to History > Manage History (or press Ctrl+Shift+H).
Search for start.me.
Right-click any Start.me entry and select Forget About This Site.
