Start.me is most useful when you set it as the default startup page in your browser. That way, your bookmarks, notes, and other information are always within reach.
Once you've done this, you can also decide which page you want to see first.
Quick solution
When you set Start.me as your default start page, we will automatically display the first personal page in your list of pages. If you want to display the second page, drag it to the first position.
For Chrome, use the New Tab extension
Instructions
Make sure you install the start.me New Tab extension. You will see the Start.me icon appear in your browser, usually next to the address bar.
Once you've located the Start.me icon, click it to open a dialog and click the cog to open the options.
Now you'll see a pop-up. From the dropdown menu, select the page you prefer as your startup page.
The New Tab extension works in Chrome and Chromium-based browsers, like our partners: the Iron browser, Kinza, Torch, Vivaldi, and the Craving Explorer.
For Firefox, use this workaround
If you want to use Start.me in Firefox, you'll need a workaround, as this browser doesn't allow us to change your default new tab page.
Instructions
Install the add-on New Tab Override. Note: this is add-on is not developed by Start.me.
Set https://start.me as your New Tab page.
Grant the extension the rights to set the Net Tab page to Start.me.
Now your new tab page is set to Start.me.
This extension works in Firefox, as well as in Firefox-based browsers, unless they don't allow the installation of Firefox Add-Ons. Our partner browser Pale moon does not permit this.
For Edge, use our extension
Instructions
Make sure you install the Start.me New Tab extension. You will see the Start.me icon appear in your browser.
Once you've located the Start.me icon, right-click it to open a dialog.
Click Extension Options.
Now you'll see a pop-up. From the dropdown menu Which page do you want to use as your homepage?, select the page you prefer.
This extension can also be used in Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers, like our partners: the Iron browser, Kinza, Torch, and the Craving Explorer.
Note
If you want to use Start.me without changing your startup page or new tab pages to Start.me, we offer a separate extension without this functionality. For Chrome: Bookmarker by Start.me, for Edge: Bookmarker by Start.me.
We don't recommend using both extensions at the same time, as this may result in unexpected behavior.
For other browsers
If you want to quickly change the default homepage in other browsers like Safari or Internet Explorer, we can't help you with a dedicated extension or add-on. You can use the Quick solution mentioned above.
Warning
We don't recommend using the On startup or Homepage settings of these browsers to set your default startup page to a specific page, but only to the general Start.me domain. So please use http://start.me in all cases, as pointing to a personal page URL (like: https://start.me/p/WrqOnf/) may result in an error message.
