A team subdomain (e.g. mycompany.start.me) gives your team its own branded portal. You can customize the layout, control what visitors see, upload a custom favicon, and configure authentication methods.
Set up your subdomain
Open your Team admin panel and go to the Settings tab.
Under Subdomain, click Configure subdomain.
Enter a unique subdomain name and click Done.
Subdomain settings
Once your subdomain is configured, the Settings tab shows additional options:
Change subdomain: Change your subdomain name at any time.
Display settings: Configure the layout and behavior of your subdomain (see below).
Favicon: Upload a custom favicon (
.png,.svg,.jpg, or.icofile) that appears in the browser tab.
To customize the sign-in and sign-up page background, go to Authentication & SSO on the Login methods tab. See Configure Authentication Methods.
Display settings
Click Edit next to Display settings to open the configuration modal. These settings only affect pages accessed via your subdomain.
Setting | What it does |
Open all links in a new window | All links clicked on your subdomain pages open in a new browser tab. This applies to non-logged-in visitors; logged-in users control this via their own User Preferences. |
Hide sign-in menu | Hides the sign-in button in the top-right corner of your portal. Use this if you don't want visitors to sign in to Start.me. |
Hide search bar | Hides the large search bar shown at the top of your pages. |
Hide bookmark search | Hides the bookmark search icon in the top-right corner of your pages. |
Hide footer | Hides the Start.me footer at the bottom of your pages for a cleaner look. |
Do not load Third-Party tracking code | Prevents third-party tracking scripts (such as analytics and cookie consent tools) from loading when visitors access your subdomain. Enable this for stricter privacy. |
Note
Changes to display settings may take several minutes to appear on your subdomain.
