Start.me has two types of keyboard shortcuts: extension shortcuts that work anywhere in your browser, and in-app shortcuts that work on the Start.me page itself.
Extension shortcuts
These work on any webpage when you have our browser extension installed:
Alt+B | Save the current page as a bookmark |
Alt+H | Open your Start.me homepage |
Change extension shortcuts in Chrome, Edge, and Chromium browsers
Click the Start.me icon in your toolbar.
Click the cog icon to open Extension Options.
Go to the Shortcuts tab.
Click Change — this opens your browser's extension shortcuts page.
Find the Start.me extension and set your preferred key combinations.
Change extension shortcuts in Firefox
Click the hamburger menu (☰) > Add-ons and Themes.
Click the gear icon (Tools for all add-ons).
Click Manage Extension Shortcuts.
Find the Start.me extension and set your preferred key combinations.
In-app shortcuts
These work on the Start.me page itself — no extension needed:
CTRL + S | Open the search box |
ALT + P | Open the pages menu (Windows) |
CTRL + I | Open the bookmarks Inbox |
You can view and customize these in User preferences & display settings under the Keyboard Shortcuts section.
Tip
If a shortcut conflicts with another extension or a browser default, your browser will warn you. Choose a combination that isn't already in use.
