How to use the Inbox

The Inbox is your temporary holding area for bookmarks you haven’t sorted yet. It lets you save first and organize later — perfect for busy moments when you don’t want to break your flow.

Why Use the Inbox?

  • Capture links quickly without breaking your focus.

  • Organize later, when it suits you.

  • Ideal for read-later links or inbox-zero workflows.

  • The Inbox is a free feature, open to all subscribers.

How Bookmarks End Up in the Inbox

You can add bookmarks to your Inbox in several ways:

  • Our Browser Extensions – Save any page with one click.

  • Bookmarklet – Familiar one-click bookmark functionality, without installing an extension.

  • On Mobile – After installing our iPhone or Android app, you can share a page with Start.me. A bookmark of that page is automatically saved in the Inbox.

  • Widget Explorer – Drag bookmarks from other widgets into the Inbox.

Note

Bookmarks added via import or other sources are saved to a new page, not the Inbox.

How to open the Inbox

You can access your Inbox:

  • directly: by pressing Ctrl-I.

  • From the Search Panel – Click in the search field in the header (or press Ctrl-S), and then the Inbox icon.

  • From the Widget Explorer – Go to any bookmarks widget > Pencil icon. You'll find the Inbox in the top left corner of the window. You might have to expand the explorer section by clicking the arrow at the bottom of the bookmarks widget.

  • From the Search Results – Open a result and tap the bookmark location to jump to the Inbox.

  • Browser Extension – Click the Inbox link after saving a bookmark.

  • As a bookmark in any Bookmark widget. Take the URL of the Start.me page where you want the inbox to appear, and add "/?section=inbox". The complete URL will be something like: https://start.me/p/gG0PjJ/ai-the-ultimate-page/?section=inbox. Now it takes just one click to open the Inbox.

What You Can Do in the Inbox

Once in the Inbox, the bookmarks behave like any other. You can:

  • Edit title, URL, or description by clicking the Pencil icon.

  • Select and move or copy them to any widget or page.

  • Delete what you no longer need by clicking the Trashcan icon.

  • Select multiple bookmarks to apply bulk actions.
