Why do I get an error code 500?

A 500 error means something went wrong on our end. Here is what to do.

A 500 Internal Server Error means something went wrong on our end. This is not caused by anything you did — it's a server-side issue that our team is automatically notified about.

What to do

  1. Wait a moment and try again. Most 500 errors are temporary and resolve within a few minutes.

  2. Hard-refresh the page with Ctrl+F5 (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac).

  3. If the error persists after 10–15 minutes, try clearing your browser cache.

  4. Try a different browser or an incognito/private window to rule out local issues.

What happens on our side

When a 500 error occurs, our monitoring systems are notified automatically. Our developers investigate and resolve the issue as quickly as possible. You do not need to report it unless the error continues for more than an hour.

Seeing this error repeatedly?

If you keep getting 500 errors on a specific page, the issue might be related to that page's content. Please email support@start.me with the page URL and a screenshot so we can investigate.
