Advanced Member Rights
With the Advanced Member Rights, you can give your members more control over how start.me works for them.
With this toggle enabled your team members can share and follow/unfollow team pages. They will be able to tweak their team menu by adding, removing or re-ordering team pages in their menu.
Leave this setting disabled when you simply want your team members to see the team pages they have access to.
Advanced Member Rights | OFF | ON |
Members can create personal pages | Yes | Yes |
Members automatically see all team pages in their menu | Yes | No |
Members can add (follow) or remove (un-follow) team pages from their team menu. | No | Yes |
Members can re-order team pages in their menu | No* | Yes |
Members can share pages with the team | No | Yes |
Members can become an editor of a page | Yes | Yes |
* Team admins can control and re-order the team pages menu through Team Admin > Pages.
Which option is best for you?
If you want your staff to access (read-only) your team pages, we recommend leaving this setting OFF. Every team member will always see all team pages (created by team admins) in their menu.
If you want a more collaborative start.me environment, where your staff can share a page, we recommend switching this setting to ON.
Example 1
Tim is a teacher, and he has created a team on start.me, to share pages with his students. He wants to keep full control over his material, so he wants his students to see only his pages on their team menu when they log in. He does not want his students to share pages.
For Tim, it would be best to leave this setting OFF.
Example 2
Sarah runs a large marketing company and has created dozens of pages on start.me around several topics, incl. collections of online tools, resources, dashboard KPI's and several internal company pages. Sarah wants all her co-workers to be able to personalize start.me and only see the pages that are relevant for them. She also wants them to be able to share pages.
For Sarah, it would be best to leave this setting ON.
Contact us if you have questions about the Advanced Member Rights setting.
