The search bar helps you to get to your favorite bookmarks and search results faster. You can customize the default search engine and add many new search engines.

1. Search bookmarks [back to top]
When you start typing in the search bar, you'll see several results pop up:
- In the first tab, search results from your default search engine.
- In the second tab, your bookmarks.
- In the third tab, results from the start.me databases. You can choose from:
- Top Website categories,
- Detailed website information,
- Public start.me pages.
2. Switch search engines [back to top]
If you want to switch the search engine, you click down arrow net to the magnifying glass. Select the engine you prefer in the dropdown.
No matter what search engine, you can always search your bookmarks.
3. Set default search engine and tab [back to top]
Instructions
- Click the down arrow in the search field.
- Click Search settings to open the sidebar.
- Select default search engine from the dropdown menu. Toggle the tab you prefer.
- Click outside the sidebar to confirm.
4. Add custom search engine [back to top]
Instructions
- Click the down arrow in the search field.
- Click the My search engines tab.
- Click Add custom search engine.
- Type the Name of the search engine you want to add. Under Search link, type or copy the name of your new search engine. If you want to add a custom engine, make sure to replace the search term with %s.
- Click Add to confirm.
5. Examples of custom search engines [back to top]
Here's a list of examples of custom search engines you can add. Copy the following addresses, and paste them URL-field, in the Add custom pane. Click Add to confirm.
